I'm cracking up picturing Eli sucking on that toilet!

And I totally had one of those nursing crying nursing crying days today. 3 week growth spurt maybe? But yes, you DID warn me, and I know I can do it. I might just be a bit of a zombie for a while.

Around Eli's age, Monroe was fascinated with the toilet too, he loved to pull the covers off those little bolts at the bottom. Now he loves to find a cup and scoop the water. Talk about gross!

I loved your post, but have one suggestion. Get yourselves a jumperoo! That was my number one secret to containing the baby while I got ready. A jumperoo, johnny jumper, or exersaucer and a Baby Einstein-if ever there was an argument to let your child watch TV, that's it. THat's pretty much the only time I do, but it's my saving grace. Praise Baby is great too!

I love this post sweet friend. People always asked us how we were doing everything with Caden and we always said we were just doing what we had to do, he was (is) our baby. Any parent would tell you the same thing :-) And I LOVE the part ab him sucking on the toilet (nasty!) and you trying to curl your hair . . . hilarious. Also, will you send me your address? I want to put a Christmas card in the mail for you. Assuming I can get them out before Christmas of course :-)

Good heavens, this is SO TRUE! Oh, the sweet little fantasies I had while pregnant.. I can't even imagine doing half those things with a little monkey in tow now! :)

Make sure you take a picture of him sucking the toilet. (gag!) You know, for future prom date blackmail. ;)

Hi there,

Here is a tip that I hope will help you. :) ( for the record I had twins, that makes me some sort of expert on distracting kids, I'm pretty sure)

When you are trying to get ready in the bathroom, bring the highchair to the hall or room where you are and put Cheerios or something fun on the tray. This distracted my kids but kept them IN PLACE, and from sucking on the toilet. :)

As always you made me laugh. But I want you to know that I needed to hear this today. Sometimes it's hard to just keep trucking on. Sometimes (okay a lot of times) being a mom is not the easiest thing in the world. Sometimes I forget where my focus should be. Thank you for this reminder.

I needed to read this right now! Thank you for your words of advice and encouragement. Sometimes I think of that verse as a "cliche" one (which is ridiculous because no verse is), but you just put it in a new light for me. It isn't just meant for mountain-moving events, it's about ALL things. Awesome thought.

I was literally laughing out loud as I imagined you running your baby away from the toilet. I even read it to my husband. Juggling all of that sounds tough. But thanks for making me feel like just maybe I'll be able to figure it out when the time comes!
