Here before you is the longest Christmas recap ever. This is more for our memory-keeping than anything.
Whew. Christmas 2011 is over. It came fast and furious and passed by us in a flash.
We spent a lot of our holiday week traveling, which was a bit tiring but was worth it to spend time with our families, while also getting some time for our little family to have our alone time.
We spent the first week of last week with my family. We hung out, shopped, ate out, watched movies and just relaxed.
Luke and I were also able to sneak out and have a date night. We haven't had one in a LONG time so it was nice and much needed. We went to my favorite restaurant which had an hour wait but it was fine with use cause we were in no rush. It was a great time.
We spent Christmas eve with Luke's family and exchanged gifts with them. Eli had so much fun opening all of his gifts!
Here he is clapping in anticipation of opening his gifts! Well not really he didn't have a clue what was going on but he knew everybody was staring at him so clapping seemed appropriate.
Playing with his new musical toys:
Christmas Eve night we drove back to our home so that we could spend Chrsitmas morning together as a family - and also because we had church that morning.
I didn't think Christmas morning would be a ton of fun this year since Eli is so young but OMIGOSH it was SO fun. Luke woke up before me and went and turned all our Christmas tree lights on and turned Christmas music on and then got Eli and they woke me up together. I loved it.
We had such a good time and I was brought to tears many times thinking of how thankful I am for my little family.
Eli got a scooter from Santa and he LOVED it:
He looks like such a big boy! Tear.
Here he is in front of the tree with his new DVD. Sleepy eyes:
He also got a NY Giants shirt which was a present to both he and dad. I'm sure dad liked it more than Eli:
This picture is a bit blurry but it shows how much fun he was having. I am so in love with my little guy.
Our Christmas morning was pretty rushed because we had to head up to church. Usually Luke goes early but we all went early to stay together as a family for Christmas morning. Eli just sat mesmerized while the musicians rehearsed. We definitely think we have a musician on our hands.
Church was wonderful and just perfect for the morning. Luke led the church in Christmas carols and Eli slept in my lap. It was perfect.
After church we hit the road AGAIN and spent Christmas day with my family.
The only picture I got during the day with my baby and he isn't even looking:
We exchanged gifts that night.
Cute cousins in matching PJ's. This picture makes us laugh cause they look miserable - they weren't!
Happy boy in front of his presents:
It was a great week but we were definitely ready to get back home and get back to our normal schedule. Luke and I both have a few days off before we go back to work. I am hoping to get a lot of cleaning and organizing done in the next few days!
Merry Christmas 2011!
