Home Movies

First of all I want to say thank you to everybody who left lunch advice. I have loved reading through them and plan to implement some of your tips.

Second of all I have to say some of ya'll are just nasty. LEAN CUISINES, REALLY?? I tried to eat one of those this year and I gagged my way through it and then washed it down with three chocolate chip cookies.

But whatever floats your boat. Right?

I had planned to do a Weekly Weekend Update post but then I remembered we didn't do a dang thing this weekend.

Luke and I sat around, relaxed, watched TV, read, ate and just spent quality time together. It was pure bliss.

Oh and we saw Toy Story 3. I might have cried for the majority of the movie. I blame it on the beginning when they show Andy's mom's home videos. Home videos make me bawl like a baby.

Regardless if they are real or Pixar. They make me cry.

Every time I go home I beg my family to watch home videos with me. They act all disgruntled about it and like it's the last thing they want to be doing but I know they secretly love it and wait for the moment when I ask to watch them.

Luke included, I know it's the highlight of his life to watch my family's home videos.

And I can't really explain why home video's make me cry.

However I also could have been crying form the amount of popcorn I consumed. Every time we go to the movies Luke and I share one of those huge things of popcorn. And then every time we leave the movies I end up spending the entire night awake with a stomach ache.

You would think I'd learn my lesson.

But it's that buttery, salty goodness. It gets me every time.

So there was our weekend wrap up.

Movies, crying, popcorn. The normal stuff.

In other news I hate to say it but I am ready for Fall. I feel like every winter I am ready for summer and every summer I am ready for Fall. Here is the kicker. I don't like EXTREMES. I like mild warm weather, not sweltering "my legs are charred to my leather seats hot" and I like cool weather not "I can't feel my nose, hands, or any other body part because of frost bite".

But I am ready for sweaters, boots, peppermint mochas, apple cider, etc etc. I might have already said this on my blog, or I might have already tweeted it. I can't remember.

So that is all for now. Now I want to watch some old home movies. And eat some popcorn.

  1. How can you not love a big tub of movie theater popcorn? I live for that and a big ol' fountain drink. That's living the life right there!!

  2. Also am SO ready for Fall! Namely, oversized sweaters + boots over jeans! It's my favorite season of all and I wish we had more of it in Texas!

  4. I too cannot resist buttered popcorn. It's like crack to me. (And I get it at Target like 3x a week. Oops.)

And in defense of the Lean Cuisines, there are like 2 good flavors. The one I eat is Three Cheese Stuffed Rigatoni. But I can only eat that like... once a week. Ugh. I hate these meals and I've been eating way too many of them. BARF!

  5. Oh I only wish Adam would let us buy popcorn at the movies. Instead we have to sneak in not-as-overpriced-snacks from the grocery store :-)

  7. I am so over this summer. It's just too ridiculously hot. And winter better not be too cold or I'll be complaining then too...

  8. August is my birthday month, so I don't like to rush it. However, I too, am ready for summer to be OVER.

Unfortunately, I live in Florida where last year it was hot and humid until December. I'm really hoping we don't have a repeat of that nonsense. The good news is that I typically can go visit someplace that is having nice Fall weather in early October.

  9. Oh my goodness. Try seeing Toy Story 3 with your three year old son (aptly named Andrew). He is so much like Andy was in the first two movies (very active imagination), and he was so enthralled. And all I could think was "oh my goodness - one day he's three and the next day he'll be off to college".

  11. Yeah, I don't like the extremes either. It's like 110 in Indiana today. I want fall and spring all year :o)

  13. I'm so jealous you saw Toy Story 3... I'm dying to see it!!

I'm right there with you about fall! We won't hit fall weather 'til about December in the desert, but I'm dying to wear jeans, boots, and sweaters!

  14. Home movies...my parents love to pull those out at family events. They love them so much that my mom has already told us that their very first baby gift for us (when it's time) is going to be a video camera.

  15. I love watching home movies! In fact, we've done just that this past weekend.

  16. I'm with you on hating the extremes! I wore leggings under my dress today simply to keep from burning the crap out of my legs when I leave work! This heat is seriously ridiculous...bring on Fall!

  17. My nephews laughed at me and Joy for crying during Toy Story 3. I swear, that was one of the most emotional cartoons I've ever watched. When they all were about to burn in the fire and they took each other's hand and stared at one another like, "we're about to die." I LOST IT! I totally forgot that I was watching a cartoon.

  18. I am banned from seeing Toy Story 3 because my husband knows I will get too upset! I still have every toy I have ever owned afterall...

  19. Haha lean cuisines. Ick!! They are flavorless. Nasty! Buttery popcorn is MUCH better :) Even if it a whole tub!

And I could not agree with you more. 100+ degree weather is getting out of hand. ready for Christmas!

  20. I love watching old home movies too. I can watch the same ones over and over and still think what happens or is said is the funniest thing I've ever seen or heard. My family always moans when I want to watch them, but secretly I think they enjoy it too...since they don't leave the room once they are on!!!
