This and That

1. This weekend Luke and I went to the local Farmer's Market and I bought this huge bag of Okra. Now I have no idea what to do with it. I would like to do something OTHER than fry it (which is obviously the most delicious but least healthy way to cook it). Anybody have any good okra recipes?

2. My husband has been recording a new song. Here he is in all his recording glory (and will probably kill me for putting this picture on here). When we first got married I thought I would never get sick of the sound of his singing voice. Two years later when my husband locks himself in that room for hours and I can't hear my precious TV over his LOUD singing, I find myself wishing he had a soundproof recording studio with a red light outside of it like Uncle Jesse. Everything's better on TV.

3. I don't like to rush time, because it goes fast enough as it is, but I am excited for Fall. Crisp air, holidays, football games (yes I said it), apple cider, boots, sweaters. I'm ready!

4. When I started the Harry Potter series I had a hard time deciding whether I should read the entire series first and then watch the movies, or watch the movies after I finish each book. I decided to go with the second option and I am so glad I did. While the books are better, the movies are very comparable and I LOVE the actors. I'm so glad I decided to read Harry Potter. I am hooked!

4. I had to start moderating my comments because I am being infiltrated with Chinese spam comments. It is SO annoying. Seems like blogger could do something about this? Maybe not.

5. This time last year we were on our way to Disney World with my family. Oh how I wish we were going there again this year. I would LOVE to go to Disney World in the Fall.

6. On Friday we had friends over, we grilled burgers and just hung out and talked for several hours. There are few things better than good friends that you connect with, which I have found is so hard to come by. We are thankful for good friends.

7. If you aren't watching Friday Night Lights you are missing out on the best show ever. Luke and I watched seasons 1-3 in record time and are contemplating watching season one again. Do yourself a favor and watch it.

Okay, I've heard several people now say FNL is the best show. Alright...I'll start watching it. :)

Oh and Luke does have a Uncle Jessi-ness to him, don't ya think?

LOVED the Uncle Jesse reference. And yes, I think that would be ideal for you guys. :)
I want to watch FNL because of you.

Since I have lots of extra time on my hands, I really want to start watching Friday night Lights :-) No but I do, I used to watch it for the first couple episodes and then got too busy . . . but i keep hearing such good things about it!

I'm ready for fall too but NOT winter. I wish the world could just throw Winter out of the seasonal rotation.

I keep hearing that Friday Night Lights is awesome. I guess I really am missing out! I think I'm gonna have to come back and check your comments for a good okra recipe. Every time I go to the farmer's market I want to buy some, but I have no clue what to do with it either, besides fry it! Let me know what you find!

I am SO ready for fall too! Don't get me wrong, I love summer... just sick of these triple-digit HOT HOT days!

No suggestions for the okra since I only love it fried because I'm healthy like that, but I do need to comment on HP and FNL....love that you love them now :)

Don't you hate those stupid chinese comments?? I hate having to turn on word verification, but it is better than a billion spam comments. I've actually become used to typing them in. It used to drive me crazy, but now I understand why people have to use it.

Oh we love FNL! So great!

I'm in the comment moderating stage as well--stupid Chinese anonymous comments!

And I'm so glad you love Harry Potter--can't wait for the next movie!

LOL at the Uncle Jesse reference.

I watched the first five movies before I read any of the books. Then, I read ALL of the books. I'll say that I enjoyed the 6th movie so much more having already read the book. I can't wait for Deathy Hallows.

Next time you come to Disney World, you must do two things..... 1) Meet up with me for coffee or a smoothie or a Mickey Mouse ice cream and 2) Take half a day to skip out on DW (though I love it dearly) and visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure. Seriously, it's like walking through the books and movies.

Fry the okra. :) But if you really want to be healthy ... kelly's korner had a recipe that looked pretty good last week. :) And honestly, isn't frying healthy? I mean ... in the same way pizza is as you cover a lot of food groups. haha! :)

Girl, okra is the best fried! I don't know any other ways though. Sorry!

I'm so ready for fall too. But that means winter is right around the corner. I could do without the snow for...ever.

Ahh... Jessie and the Rippers. Good ole Full House.

I did the same thing with Harry Potter. I read a book, and then watched a movie. Most of the time when I read the books I drank a Blue Moon, so now I associate Harry Potter with Blue Moon. Weird. I need to read them again. they are soooo good.

I am ready for boots too. i was just looking at mine this weekend and thinking how much I love wearing them. (-:

I had to moderate my comments because I started getting mean ones. )-:

I do like fried okra! :) I would have no idea what else to do with it :) I love just getting together with friends when you just chill and hang out or play some games, and talk for hours! (and eat of course ;)) And you know we LOVE FNL! Hubby wants to rewatch it too! :)

I didn't know okra came in a form other than fried. :)

And I totally giggled at that picture of Luke as Uncle Jesse. Although, I think he might actually be cuter than John Stamos... :)

I'm on the opposite HP plan as you, I read all of the books, and then tried to watch the movies, but never got around to it! My current plan has changed to having a HP movie marathon this fall before the 7th one comes out in theaters!

Yay for you reading HP!! Hope you're current by this fall for Part 1 of Book 7.
