Seriously...What Happened to the Cash Flow?!?

What I'm going to say is probably going to sound bad. Please know that I do not mean this bad in any sort of way. Just expressing my heart. Before Luke and I got married I lived on my own for 2 years. I graduated college in 2006 and lived with roommate and had a full time job.

Let me cut to the chase: I bought what I wanted when I wanted. If I wanted a new purse I got one, if I needed a dress to wear to a wedding I went and bought it.

Then I got engaged, and everything changed. The time came to save for a home, kids, medical emergencies, car emergencies, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade my amazing husband for all the Coach purses in the world, but wouldn't it be nice to buy one when you want?

God is teaching me a lot during this time. Contentment comes to mind. This is one that I have always had a hard time with: which of course means it is the perfect place for God to work in me. I am learning money is not mine to worry about it. We have committed our marriage to God and he will provide, even if providing means not getting a new outfit every time I feel like it. :-) He is teaching me and I am allowing Him to teach me. I am learning self-control, obedience, and trust.

Our needs are provided for. I do not 'need' all of the things listed above. It is a great learning experience.

In other news:
Because I don't ALREADY watch enough trashy television I have to admit I can't wait for this:

The NEW 90210. Now, I was too young when 90210 originally came on TV to get into it, but I became a fan later during repeats after school.

I'm not too proud to admit that I have seasons 1-3 on DVD. I got them all right when they came out - I still haven't gotten season 4 (please read above text for explanation). Now I am curious to see if this show will be any good. But I am SO excited that some cast members from the original show are going to be on there!

If only Luke Perry would come back. I still get a crush on him when I watch the old episodes. I can't decide who has better hair. High school Dylan in 90210 or Luke?? Tough call.

If you could pick a show to come back on TV what would it be?

Wow...I should have read this blog before my shopping excursion today! ;-) My husband would have appreciated it. We got married July 19...when did you guys get married?

My kids always watched 90210.
I loved it when Kristen was still living at home because she watched good shows and I'd sit and watch them with her. Now I'm so out of the loop. The other night my husband had gone to bed and I was flipping through channels and "The Hills" was on and I watched it. It had been a long time! "Lauren" was the guest on Late Night with David Letterman when we were in NY in March. So funny...
I love your new picture. What a beautiful bride you are.
Yes, adjusting to married life is a little tough at times. There is so much give and take....seems like mostly give. ;)
I wanted to tell you that Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer and Kay Arthur are doing an event called "Deeper Still" at the Ford Center in OKC in Dec. '09. It's a long way off, but I actually called and got our tickets yesterday. Sometimes they sell out when they are in our area.
You'd love it! Travis C. leads praise and worship for them too.
I think it'd be fun for several bloggers to get together when it's here. Hey, since you're an event planner.........I'd help!!
Have a great weekend!

LOVE 90210!!!! I am like you - didn't really see it the first time around, but you better believe I have spent a good part of my life catching up through re-runs! And if Luke has better hair than Luke then I definitely would like to meet that fella you call your husband - because that is some SERIOUS hair goodness right there and I'd like to witness it.

Have a great Friday!

I never got to watch 90210 when I was in high school so I for sure want to see a few episodes of this new one.

I liked Mad About You. I lived a rather boring TV life.

90210 was a huge highligt at our house growing up. My brother and I would have friends over to watch every week :) (until Dawson's Creek came out, then we were torn because they came on the same night the first season...tear!)
The married thing and money is a HUGE adjustment! I will sadly admit that I was a clothes snob and would never think to shop at Target or Marshalls...until I got married. Now I love it! Clothes and shoes aren't as important to me as they once were (unfortunately at times). I feel your pain sister, it's tough! :)
Hope you have a great Labor Day weekend!

I would put Friends back on the air hands down. No doubt!

I think I might have to watch the new 90210- I loved the old one even though it was off limits in my house! (I watched the reruns like you!)
I'm proud of you for "showing restraint" as we call it in my house! It is so hard to not go out and get all the things you want, but so worth it!
